Motorola Launched its Latest Defy Unveiled in India

Motorola gifted yet another Google Android handset Defy that is claimed to be ready for rugged usage. Motorola promises that Defy handset is dust-proof and water-resistant. Amidst the several other Android handsets, 3.7-inch display bearing Defy comes with Android 2.1 running on it. Motorola Defy is available in India for Rs. 18,500.



Under the hood, Motorola Defy houses an 800Mhz Texas Instruments OMAP 3610 processor with 512MB RAM and 2GB internal shared memory. Running Google Android 2.1 Eclair we hope that Motorola will bless it with Google Android 2.2 Froyo. Apparently, Defy does have MOTOBLUR user interface with Live Widgets layered on the top of it. Its capacitive touchscreen display supports a 480x854 pixel resolution.
Imaging is powered with 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. One can use the color effects in real time to shoot some nice images and also geo-tag them to Google Maps. For corporate users, the Defy supports Exchange 2003 and 2007 along with POP3/IMAP and Yahoo Mail. Of course the handset offers Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. 

Packing Google Services like Gmail, Apps, Calendar and Talk, the phone also offers access to Android Market for users to download Apps on the phone. The A-GPS module of the phone aids the apps using location based services. Other features like Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and Social Network integration for Facebook, Twitter and MySpace exists. 

Motorola Defy is a quad-band GSM phone that will support 3G networks. The phone is Digital Living Network Alliance certified. Packing 1540mAh battery pack, the phone offers 6.8 hours of continuous talk time and 9.9 days long stand by time.
