ASUS Republic of Gamers came out in force at CeBIT 2011 to launch some new additions to its gaming range. On show were some new notebooks, a couple of motherboards, graphics cards, a 3D monitor, a router and some headsets.

Features of note include a wide-viewing-angle, glasses-free 3D experience from one of the notebooks, XONAR audio and 802.11n on a Black Edition mainboard, and a Wireless-N router that can support simultaneous connections for lag-free, online gaming.

First off the starting blocks is the Republic of Gamers (RoG) G74Sx 17-inch notebook with the latest Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and enthusiast-level NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics. Players can output to a big screen 3D TV via HDMI 1.4, and the system sports full support for NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology. A separate number pad and cursor keys offers more gaming fluidity and the ever-important backlit keyboard also features, for twilight and dark room gamers.

The notebook can take up to 16GB of memory, and there's easy access to dual drive bays and memory slots for quick upgrades. A new thermal management system with rear vents to expel warm air is reported to keep things nice and cool under the hood.

With the G53 notebook, ASUS promises deadzone-free and glasses-free 3D visuals. The new immersive gamestation features a combination of lenticular lens technology with the AUO "naked eye" eye-tracking system. The screen can display simultaneous 2D text with 3D images so that vital written instructions retain crisp clarity.

ASUS has also unveiled a new 3D monitor at CeBIT – the 27-inch, LED backlit VG278H. There's support for all the latest graphics cards via HDMI 1.4, and a built-in infrared transmitter offers gamers a wire-free 3D experience.

RoG mainboards also get new family members, including the Rampage III Extreme Black Edition. The new gaming monster's heatsinks have been upgraded to the latest Maximus IV Extreme flavors, there's four PCI-Express 16x slots, Wireless-N Wi-Fi connectivity and USB 3.0. Elsewhere, there's dual-BIOS with a switching button, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, RoG Connect USB, XONAR audio and RC Bluetooth.

A RoG Matrix GTX 580 graphics card also broke cover, featuring the exclusive DirectCU II design that puts copper heatpipes in direct contact with the GPU for improved thermal efficiency. Twin fans are said to circulate more air and 16-phase Super Alloy Power components offer stability and long operational life.

A lag-free online gaming experience is the promise offered by the new RT-N66U Dual-band Wireless-N Gigabit Router, which supports simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections and sports a 600MHz processor to cope with the multi-tasking demands of users.

The new Vulcan-ANC Gaming Headset completes the new RoG line-up on show at CeBIT, and features dual-noise-canceling technology, high quality speaker drivers and a boom microphone.
